What’s a happy blog?

Nothing?
What!
Yes nothing!

Happiness is not a lasting emotion, happiness is superficial, and happiness is what we want to be and not who we are. But true emotions are born from a tinge of pain.

Would I ever been happier for how my life has turned out to be without recounting all those moments of failure?

Would I be true to myself and all of you reading this boring blog ;-) without having opened a small window to my world?

Think again what’s the happiest you been? I am guessing it was in the moment when you pushed forward when your back could sense that wall!

I am happy to share; and am happy that I can :-)

This is my Happiness blog ;-)

What next?

Is next tomorrow? Is next the time we realize our mistakes or is it after the point of committing that fatal mistake?

I know; been there and done that, but that does not make me a better man. I retain my good being and hence know my mistakes….but what next? What if I loose my being good in this world so filled with greed and selfdom? Would I know I have erred? Would I know when I have crossed the line…when the line is a dot?

Searching my next!

Mumbai records 43.52 per cent polling!

Now I really want to meet these so called Mumbaikars, the ones that take out the candle vigil after terror attacks, demand a lot from government authorities, the so called SoBo’s who are worried about their nails ( as one of my friends pointed out).

The so called boundaries of Mumbai according to the SoBo’s ends at Mahim and yes right you are really the true citizens of Mumbai…go get a life guys, wankers all of you!

Main aur meri jeans

I am not scared to admit at this stage in my life that I have a deep and profound relationship with my clothes. Being a man it might sound a bit weird, almost metrosexual. But for all of you reading this blog update please note its more than that, it gets deeper from here on.

Started in the early years of my life I quickly figured I could only have deep relationships with a few from the wardrobe; and few meant really few. Considering growing up year’s pre economic liberalization meant words like frugality had great importance for my folks J

That single pair of jeans or that one shirt would become my entire wardrobe, trying on something new before visiting relatives would always be fraught with apprehension and sure shot fashion disaster for me. Unfortunately I had to live by rules, not my own and itchy black shorts and red shirt might have complemented my skin color somehow left me feeling extremely exposed, completely clothed.

Teenage years had changed all that; the rebel in me decided enough was enough! This is the time to try out the new and fashionable. Unfortunately for me bollywood (which defined most of the fashion in our times) was stuck with strange formal wear for all occasions and pants that swayed in the breeze almost like a woman’s saree. Tried it, never liked any of it….and then I found comfort in my first regular Levis. Wow! what a feeling! The make, the touch, the feel, the fit….still remember my special jeans for all occasions. Everything starting dates, cricket, dinner, parties, college, movies in those faded pair; it was my second skin. And then almost like shedding, one day the frayed to bits pair on me was lost in time.

I had moved into adulthood! Jeans somehow never fit that well in this world and on me; let’s not get into the 92 kilo AB pack I had put on! But somehow office rejected my jeans wear, lounge bars seemed to distance me from my favorite skin treatment, and I was thrown into accepting rules not my own again.

But like any good relationship or marriage, I stayed true…kept pushing the boundaries of office wear, lounge wear, party wear and what have you. Now I am proud to say my life is complete…my frayed pairs are back on the top 3 list. Maybe because of my obsessive nature of seeking out the topmost from my list that today all my experiments with life somehow happen with me in my frayed pair! I have realized the truth about life is in staying true to not what you choose to be but maybe it’s about what chooses you. To put differently; it’s not what suit you wear, it’s about what suits you that matters the most!

Some decisions are life changing. My joining RMG Connect/JWT was one such moment in my short life. A little background will help understand why I rate this as such an imporatnt life changing experience.............
Before joining RMG I was going through a phase in my life where I thought everything is perpetually in a fluid state and too fast to control so ...heck why bother. I was happy to go with the flow at times drifting as far and even further everything. I still remember there was a whole week in my life when I just stayed at home and did nothing....absolutely NOTHING!
I think I was getting tired of all that when RMG happened and this is where I realised...maybe you can't control a lot that happens in life but surely you can learn to control your reaction to what is thrown at you!
These are some memories of my farewell party at RMG with friends and colleagues, thank you all .......you helped re-fuel!

I don't know why I still subscribe to 4 daily newspapers everyday....when at best I can manage to read the front page of only one a day. I subscribe to Times Of India ( World's largest circulated english daily), Hindustan Times, Mint (a business newspaper launched by Hindustan Times in association with Wall Street Journal) and Anandabaazar Patrika (Bengali Regional Newspaper).

Every month when it comes to paying the news subscription bills is when it hits me, why the hell do I pay for reading news four times over! Its insane, considering I can read all the news for almost free of charge online! But I guess its kind of built into my system.
I read newspapers not for the news alone, its the sense of anticipation in expecting today's breaking news as you pick up your newspaper ( hardly any now a days ;-)) , and then shift through the pages at a leisurely pace while you sip on your cuppa tea, or the smell of newsprint mixed with warmth of winter mornings is something I have grown up with and learnt to cherish. So now I have come to realise that my computer or laptop and online versions of newspapers in spite if the massive strides in social media is still a business tool and probably will never be able to take away my morning sunlight....I still will pick up the first newsprint and keep looking for interesting news in all my four newspapers.

Apple's share price an in-joke for Intelites
January 10, 2006 5:26 PM PST
In a bit of unintended humor, Wall Street closed Apple's stock Tuesday, the day the company unveiled its first Intel processor-based computers at Macworld , at $80.86.
That may mean nothing to the average person, but techies will no doubt catch the accidental reference to Intel's 8086, the 1978 processor that spawned the x86 architecture that PC users are so familiar with.
